MEDIATION

 

Rebecca is a member of the ADR Institute of Ontario and has been offering services as a mediator since June 2019. Since then, she has acted as a mediator on over 500 mediations. Before that, she conducted hundreds of mediations as counsel on both sides of the table. She has completed the following courses offered by the University of Windsor Faculty of Law through the Stitt Feld Handy Group, on her way to obtaining her Executive Certificate in Conflict Management: 

Alternative Dispute Resolution (2019), Advanced Alternative Dispute Resolution (2019), Dealing with Difficult People (2021), Applied Alternative Dispute Resolution (2022). She received a certificate in Mediation and Negotiation from the Dispute Resolution Centre at the University of Western Ontario's Faculty of Law (2004). 

LITIGATION

Rebecca's current practice is almost exclusively mediation.

 

Rebecca's past practice in civil litigation is diverse and has included insurance-related litigation, personal injury, contract disputes, estate litigation, class actions, professional negligence, real estate litigation, and employment disputes.  She has represented individual, institutional, and small business clients, as both plaintiffs and defendants. Prior to opening her own practice, she was a partner at a boutique insurance defence litigation firm, where she worked for 8 years.   Read more about Rebecca's litigation background & legal experience HERE.

SPECIAL PROJECTS

 

Rebecca has accepted contract work on special projects.  Her more recent work includes: acting for an intervenor in a constitutional challenge; advocating on behalf of an injured police officer with his union and employer; acting as Inquiry Counsel with the Collingwood Judicial Inquiry, which you can read about HERE
